1 Mahmud’s Aameen 1 ﷽ 2 ِ رَسُوْلِہٖ الْکَرِیْم علٰی نَحْمَدُہٗ وَ نُصَلِّی اک وکیئ ہن وکیئ اثین اس ےہ ی ہ ن رسمہ � اجوداین ذات و انث ایس وک وج دمح All praise belongs to the Being, Who is Eternal, Everlasting; He has no associate, none is His equal.اہکین بس ی روںےسدلاگلانوھجیٹےہ ن � افین ی ہ � بس ےک اس ر ی ن � ش ی ہ � ابیقویہ He alone endures, all else perishes; To fall in love with others than Him is but an idle tale.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ہ ےہ ی می رے � ی دل م �یاراجین اک دل اک ےہ ی ویہ ہ � ر ی ن � بس All others are the strangers, He alone is the Love of my heart; On my heart there is nothing writ large except ‘Holy is He Who watches over me’.ت ی وںہپ �ہ�ی�ب� ب رکو� رقتب ی الہ ہ رلزاں� تمظع ایکس ےہ تمظع دقرت اپک ےہ اپک Holy is He; of the Holy Powers is He; Greatness is but His Greatness.Tremble those who are close to Him; overwhelmed with fear are the angels.1 In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.[Translator] 2 We praise Allah and invoke His blessings upon His noble Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.[Translator]

We all are His creation, so you must love Him.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ی رت ن � ایکس اچےہ بک اتفل رکان ےس ی روں ن � How can His sense of honour tolerate that we should love the strangers; Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.تمظع ےہایکس ی دلم ت �ب�یع� اسےسےہدلیک تنم وجدو ایکس بس راتح ی ےہ ہ � ھچک وج All our comforts are due to His Favours, His Munificence; My heart owes allegiance to Him; in my heart is ingrained His Greatness.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اعسدت ےہ ی م اطتع اطتع ایکس ےہ رتہب It is far better to be obedient to Him; all good fortune is due to His obedience; Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ویہ امہرا دربل مہ وک ویہ �پ یارا اکشرا ٓا ےہ رتمح اہسرا اکویہ بس He alone is the support of all and sundry; His Mercy is mani- fest.We love Him, and Him, alone; He alone is our Beloved.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اسرا وھجٹ ےک اس ر ی ن ذگارا� ی ہ ن � نب اس We cannot subsist without Him; everything besides Him is but all lies.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

3 گ�ب�ہ�اں ن وتےن د� ی ا ےہ ا�ی اں وت رہ زامں � رقابں ہپ در ی رے ت � ی م ی را ااسحں ت � ےہ رب ا ی � My Lord this is Your favour, may I be sacrificed at Your altar.It is You, my Lord, Who have granted us faith; it is You Who alone are all the time our Protector; ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک و رامحں ی ں وت ےہ رح ٓا ی را رکم ےہ رہ ت � At every moment we are blessed with Your Grace; You are the Ever Merciful, the Most Gracious.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.می را ےہ ا ی د� رھب رھگ ےس رکم اک رہ وتےن ی را ےہ وج ےہ می را ت ی را � ت � رکش کی ورکن وہ I cannot thank You enough; to You belong all that is mine.With each and every favour have You filled my home.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک �را ی راہ ادنھ� اجات ا ی � ٓا ی را ونر ت � بج When Your Light came, all darkness was lifted.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ا ی اگ� ی ئ ی ری انث� ت رک � ی ااسحں � ی دل د� ا ی � ٓا وتےن � ی دن داھک� ی ا ومحمد ڑپھ ےک It is You Who have made this day dawn; Mahmud has come home, having finished the Quran.Having realised this favour, this bounty of Yours, the heart of mine is busy singing the praise of Yours.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ا ی دخا� ےہ رکش دص ا ی دخا� ےہ رکش دص My God hundreds of thanks I owe to You.Hundreds of thanks to You, my God.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watch- es over me.

4 ی رے اچرک ت � ن ی ت � ی � ی ہ ی � ئ وتےن ےھجم د� ی را کی ورکن اے می رے دنبہ رپور ت وہ رکش � O, my Sustainer how can I ever thank You enough.You indeed have given me these three sons, who are your servants.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اربک رب می را وت رسارس ی م ی را وہں ت � I am entirely Yours; You are the Greatest Lord of mine.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.رقابں ےک ہنم ی رے ت � ی م �ی دن ا ی داھک� وتےن دلےکارامں ی ہ ےلکن� ں ٓا رق متخ ج ٓا ےہ Today [Mahmud] has finished the Quran; thus are satisfied all my heartfelt desires.It is You Who have shown me this day.May I be sacrificed to the Countenance of You.ْ سُبْحَانَ مَنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک روزرک ی � ااسحں رکش وہ کی ورکن نسحم رب می رے اے O my Compassionate Lord, how can I express thanks for this Favour.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ےہ ملق اطتق بک ی ری �ت دمح وہ کی ورکن امت ےہ رتمح رکم ےہ وت بس ی ی را � ت � All this is Your Favour; You indeed are the Most Perfect Mercy.How can one praise You! No pen has the power to do so.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک دمےہ ی بجکتہکدمم ش ی ہ � ی ی راوہںم ت � I am always Yours, till I breathe my last.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

5 ےئمہےنےہھجتوکامان ٓا ی رےدرہپ ت مہ� اچبان ےس افت ٓا وتاان و اقدر اے O, the All-Powerful, the Almighty, do save us from misfor- tunes.We have come at the threshold of You; indeed we have believed in You.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اجان وک ھجت ہک ےس بج ےہ ینغ دل ےس ی روں ن � Ever since I have come to know You, my heart has become such that it cannot turn to others for its needs.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.رمان وضحر ی رے ت � ےس زدنیگ ےہ رتہب رکان دور ہن دم اک �پ یارے می رے وک ارقح My Love, do not, even for a moment, let any distance come be- tween me, the most humble, and You; to die in Your Presence is far better than to live without You.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ذگران ی رے ت � ےس مغ رتہب ےس وخیش واہلل By Allah, to suffer agony for Your sake is much better than being filled with joy without You.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.الےئ ہن ھچک وت ےس رھگ ےہ اطع ی ری ت � ھچک بس اپےئ ےس ھجت یھب ڑلےک انبےئ وت اکم بس It is You Who have accomplished all my works.You have giv- en me sons, too.Everything that I have is Your gift.I have not procured it on my own.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک داھکےئ دن ےک ی وں ش وخ� اجین می رے یہ وتےن It is You alone, my Love, Who have made these joyous days to dawn.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

6 ی ہ � در الغم ی رے ت ی � ہ � رب و ابر �ی می رے ی ہ ی ھجتےسیہ�ی رمث� ہ وجرسپ� ن ی ت �ی� These three, who are the sons of mine, are the ‘fruits’ that You have bestowed on me.They are my blessed possessions; and they are Your servants, and are at Your beck and call.[Ghulaam-e-Darr] ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ی ہ � دکرھ اہکں رکنم واال ودعوں ےچس وت You indeed keep Your promises, where and whereabouts are the deniers? Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.رتمح ی ری ت � رپ ان وہ افحتظ وخد ایکن رک دوتل و ن ی دےاوکند� تمسق ی ن � رکاوکن Bless them with good fortune; endow them with Faith; grant them wealth.You Yourself protect them and envelop them in Your Mercy.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک زعت اور رمع اور ت ی دہا� اور ردش دے Grant them righteousness and guide them in the right path; bless them with a long life and honour.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.اتجوارسف شخب وہں�ی ربرتاور ی م رہبت ارتخ ی ن اےمی رےدنبہرپوررکاوکن� O, my Sustainer, let the fortune smile on them.Let them all be of the most superior stature.And bestow on them eminence and leadership.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ےہ رسمہ ی ہ ن ی را � ت � رربہ.وت ےہ امہرا You are the Guide of ours, none is Your peer.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me

7 و ھ�ی� ک رسور ر ی ھ�ی� و دل م ک اجں رپ ز ونر ر و ھ�ی� ک ھ�ی� و اےنپ وضحر ر ک �یط�اں ےس دور ر �ش Let not Satan come near them; let them be ever in Your Pres- ence.Let their lives be permeated with Light.Let their hearts be saturated with joy.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک و ھ�ی� ک ی رے رقابں رتمح رضور ر ت � ی ان رپ م May my life be sacrificed to You, do have Mercy on them.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.امہری دمد ی رے واری رکوت ت � اجؤں ی م ابری وبقل و ی اسری رک� ی ئ داع� می ری Answer all my prayers, my Maker.Let me be sacrificed at Your altar.Do be our Helper.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اھبری د ی ام رک ےل ےئ ٓا ہپ در ی رے ت � مہ We have come at Your threshold; we have come full of great hopes.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.�را ادنھ�ی رہ دور رک دوتل و رمع وک اس دے ی را �ت دنبہ ومحمد می را ےہ رگج تخل My dear son, Mahmud, is the servant of You.Grant him a long life and wealth.Lift from him every type of darkness.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک دن وہں رمادوں واےل رپونر وہ وس�ی را May his days be the harbingers of the fulfilment of his desires; may his mornings dawn on him with all their light.Make bless- ed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

8 ارغص ن ی ی را رش� ت ی ر ادمح.� ش ب ی را � ت � وخرتش و ھ�ی� ک یھب ر اوکن ربادر ی دو ہ � ےک اس He has two brothers.Let them be happy: Your Basheer Ahmad, Your Shareef, the youngest.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ےسرکرطعم رتمح ر �یکس� ہپ بس لضف رک Bless them all with Your Grace; and anoint them equally with Your Mercy.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.دنھپے اسرے ےک ا ی ن د� رب ا ی � دور ےس ان رک دنگے اوکن ہن و ھ�ی� ک ر دنبے ی رے �ت وں ن ی ت �ی� All these three are Your servants.Save them from being impure.My Lord, let them be free of all the worldly diversions.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک دنمے رک� ی و ہن ان وک ش ی ہ � ی ہ ر� ےگنچ Let them be always safe and sound; let them not be mediocre.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.اتسرے ی ہ ی ہک� ب � رونش رکاےکنانم اےمی رےدلےک�پ یارےاےرہمابںامہرے O the Love of my heart, O the Benefactor of ours! Let their names shine like stars.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک �ی اسرے رہگ و ی ن وہو�ی� ہک رک لضف ی � Do me the favour that they all should be of the virtuous nature.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

9 وہوے اثین ہن ان اک رہمابین ی رک ا� اہجین دو اشہ اے اجین ےک اجں می ری اے O, the Beloved of my heart and soul; O, the Lord of both the worlds; do me such a favour that none should be their peer.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک امسین ٓا ن � ی ف� اور اجوداین تخب دے Bless them with everlasting good fortune; bestow on them the heavenly grace.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.واری ےک ہنم ی رے ت � ی م رانھک اوکن ےس رتمح اسری ی ئ داع� می ری ابری �پ یارے نس می رے O, my Beloved Maker, answer all my prayers.Be compassionate to them; may I be sacrificed to Your Countenance.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ھ� ی �ونسرک� ی م ی ریزاری ک ر ی م ہنپ اینپ Listen to this crying and wailing of mine and provide them with Your protection.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.اچرکاہن ی نسےلاوررعض ئ می ریداع� زامہن اخقل اے �ی اہن و وادح اے O, the One, the Unique; O, the Creator of the world.Answer my prayers, and accept the submission of [Your] servant.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک انبان رمق ےک ی وں د� ن ی ت � رپسد ی رے �ت To You I entrust all these three; make them the full Moons of the Faith.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me

10 ےہ ی ہ ن � وہ ی م ھجم اب اطتق یھت یک ربص وج دلزح�ی ےہاجںدردےسرق�ی ےہ ی رکفوںم On account of worries my heart is anguished; my soul is so close to suffering pain.Whatever strength I had for endurance, I have lost it now.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک یںےہ م� ل اع ّ رب ےس دور رانھک وت مغ رہ Do not cause us any grief; You are indeed the Lord of all the worlds.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.رہ رجن ےس اچبان دھک درد ےس ڑھچاان ان ٓا ےک ےل لضف اب ڑباھان وک اابقل Make us ever more prosperous; now, come with Your Grace.Safeguard us against every distress and free us from all afflic- tion and pain.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک زامان ٓا وخد می رے اکم رکان � ی ا رب ہن You Yourself accomplish my works; O Lord, do not subject me to any trial.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ر �یکس� ونر ی � ی اہدی اہجں وہں � ی وہو� رربہ ےک وہو�ی اہجں اچرک ی رے ت � وں ن ی ت �ی� May these three servants of Yours be the Leaders of the world; may they be the Guides of it.Let them all be the Light.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک وہں � ی وہو� ی رہم اونر رمعج اہشں ی � Let them be the source [of guidance] for kings.Let each one of them be the brightest Sun.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

11 ی وم ٰیل ےک �یار وہو� ی قح رپ اثنر وہو� ی رخف د�یار وہو� ی الہ واقر وہو� Let them be dignified, honoured; let them be the source of pride for the country.Let them be totally committed to the Truth.Let them be the friends of the Lord.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ی ابربگوابروہو�ی اکےسزہاروہو� Let their progeny flourish.Let each one of them become a thousand.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.مغےساکناتلےہدردوںوکاٹاتلےہ ےہ اھبنساتل دم رہ ےہ اپاتل وج ےہ وت It is but You Who rear; it is but You Who every moment look after us.It is but You Who unburden us from our woes; it is but You Who relieve us of our pains.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ےہ ڈااتل ی دلوکقحدلم اپک رکاتےہ It is but You Who purify the heart; it is but You Who instil truth into the heart.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.�یط�اں �ش وہوے دور اور رعافں ےہ ےلم ےس سج وجےہدمارا�ی اں رفاقں ا ی اھکس� وتےن You have taught the Furqan, which is the pivot of Faith; through which is gained knowledge; through which the Satan is dispelled.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اجں وہ اثنر رپ ھجت ااسحں ی را ت � ےہ �ی بس This all is Your favour; may I lay down my life for You.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

12 ا ی دباعت وک اٹم� ا ی ال� ی وق� ن ی د� ا ی � ی ا اس ےن دخا داھک� ٓا ی را یبن وج ت � No sooner had come Your Prophet than he showed us God.He indeed had brought us the firm Faith; he indeed had erased all innovations.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ا ی الم� دخا رک الب�یالم رطف یک قح He indeed had called us towards the Truth; he indeed, having become closest to Him, made us close to God.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.یرےاھبرےنگنگےکمہوتاہرے ت ی � ہ ااسحں� �پ یارے ی می رے ہ � وج اسرے ہپ ی ھجت ہ � رقابں O my Beloved, I sacrifice to you all who are my loved ones; large and innumerable are Your favours, we have failed to count them.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک انکرے اگل یتشک امرے ےک ی مغ ہ � دل وخں My heart bleeds on account of my woes; let this ark reach the shore.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ےہ رمق وت وت می را ونمر وہں ی م ےس ھجت ےہ رظن رطف ی ری ت � ےہ رھگ ی را ت � ی م دل اس You occupy this heart of mine, I am always aware of You; I am illuminated because of You, the full Moon of mine is but You.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ی رے�ی رسےہ ت ھجترپرماوتلکدررپ� It is You on Whom I rely, Whom I trust; this head of mine is indeed lying at Your threshold.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

13 ا ی � ٓا وابل رپ اجں ا ی الم� ی م اخک نت ا ی بج ھجت ےس دل اگل� ی ا وس وس ےہ مغ ااھٹ� Since the time I made my heart fall in love with You, hundreds and hundreds of woes I have suffered.Since then I have made my body roll in dust.Since then I have made my soul to be af- flicted with a distressing pain.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ا ی اپ� وک ھجت ےک وھک اجں ا ی دخا� اے رکش رپ Yet, O God, I am grateful to You, for I have lost myself, and found You.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.وصقمد لم گ ی ا بس، ےہ اجم اب ابلبل ی را ہنم بج اکمچ ےہ مہ ہپ وکبک ت ا ےہ � ی د� When we beheld Your Countenance, the shining star then had begun shining on us; I have achieved all my objectives; over- flowing is my goblet.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک بلطم ا ی � ٓا می رارب �یارب ی رےرکمےس ت � O, Lord! It was through the Grace of You that I achieved my objective.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.البےئ �ی رہمابں �پ یارے ےن رکم ی رے ت � ےئ وتےن � ی دن داھکےئ ٓا اابحب اسرے All friends have arrived; You have made these days to dawn.It is the kindness of You, my Love, that has brought here these affectionate ones.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک اپےئ ی � ی دن ڑچاھ ابمرک وصقمد سج م This blessed day has dawned in which all my wishes are ful- filled.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

14 راتح می ری وک اجں اور رفتح ےہ وہیئ وک دل تبحم ےئ دصب ٓا اتفل ےک رک وج امہمں The guests who have, out of affection, come with lots, and lots, of love.It has made my heart so happy, and my soul so joyful! ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک رتصخ وتق ےئ ٓا �یاد مغ بج ےچنہپ وک دل رپ The heart, though, becomes so sad when I think of the moment of their departure.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ےہ دجا وکرھپ رخ ٓا راہےہ ربس رگوس اگوجالمےہ ڑھچبے ےہ رسا یایھباک ن د� This world is but a temporary abode; whoever arrives must leave.Even if one lives for a hundred years, one has to at last breathe one’s last.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ےہ اقب � ی رھگیہےب اج ی ہ ن � ھچک یک وکشہ There is no occasion to complain, this very abode is not eter- nal.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ذگارو ی ھچک زاد ِ راہ ےل ول ھچک اکم م اسبرو تم ارو ٰیبقع وک ی پ � دووتس اے O my friends, the dear ones, do not be forgetful of the hereaf- ter; provide for the journey into the next life, keep busy doing good deeds.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک دل ےس اےس ااترو افین اجےئ ی ا ےہ ن د� The world is but a place, transitory; erase it from your hearts.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.

15 ےس اس اجؤ دور سب ےس اٹہؤاس رتبغ ےس ڑھچاؤ اس وک دل ےس اگلؤ اس تم یج Do not let your hearts be in love with it; free your hearts from it; do not be inclined towards it; in short, move away from it.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک �یارو�ی اژداہےہاجںوکاچبؤاسےس Friends, it is a python, safeguard your lives against it.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.اں ن ی ن ےک� دخا ڑپےنھواےلانرپ اےکس وج راہِ رعافں اھکسےئ رامحں اتکب ں ٓا رق The Quran, the Book of the Gracious God, teaches the path of knowledge; those who read it, on them is bestowed the Grace of God.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک وجاسہپالےئا�ی اں رتمح یک دخا انرپ May the mercy of God be on those who believe in it! Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.ت ی ان ےس ےلم وال� ی ت ی دخا یک اب� ہ � ی � ت ی سجوکوہ�ی انع� ت ی ےہہمشچٔ دہا� It is the fountainhead of Guidance to whomsoever it is granted; this is the Word of God through which one becomes a man of God.ْ سُــبْحَانَ مَــنْ یَّرَانِی ابمرک � ی روز رک ت ی رسا� رکے ی م ےشخب دل وک �ی ونر دل It bestows light on the heart; it permeates the heart.Make blessed this day; Holy is He Who watches over me.
